This policy outlines our commitment to maintaining a workplace free from hazards and ensuring compliance with all applicable safety laws and regulations in Malaysia.
Purpose
The purpose of this safety policy is to:
- Protect the well-being of all individuals in our workplace and store premises.
- Prevent accidents, injuries, and occupational hazards related to our operations.
- Promote a culture of safety awareness and responsibility among our team.
Scope
This policy applies to all employees, contractors, customers, and visitors at SHASHINKI SDN BHD’s premises, including our retail store, storage areas, and office spaces.
Safety Commitments
1. Workplace Safety
- We will maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free environment in our store, storage rooms, and workstations.
- Shelving units for camera equipment will be securely installed and regularly inspected to prevent falls or collapses.
- Electrical equipment (e.g., computers, chargers, lighting) will be checked periodically to avoid fire risks or electrical faults.
2. Employee Training
- All staff will receive training on safe handling of camera equipment, including lifting techniques to avoid strain or injury.
- Employees will be educated on emergency procedures, including fire evacuation and first-aid response.
3. Equipment and Tools
- Tools and devices used for repairs, demonstrations, or unpacking stock will be maintained in good condition and used only by trained personnel.
- Personal protective equipment (PPE), such as gloves or safety glasses, will be provided when handling heavy or fragile items as needed.
4. Emergency Preparedness
- Fire extinguishers, smoke detectors, and first-aid kits will be available and regularly maintained throughout the premises.
- Clear evacuation routes will be marked, and emergency exits kept unobstructed at all times.
- An emergency contact list and procedures will be displayed prominently for all staff and visitors.
5. Customer and Visitor Safety
- The shop floor will be kept free of tripping hazards, such as loose cables or unpacked boxes.
- Signage will be used to warn of any temporary risks (e.g., wet floors or equipment setup).
- Heavy or high-value items on display will be secured to prevent tipping or falling.
6. Health and Well-being
- Employees will be encouraged to take regular breaks to avoid fatigue, especially during stock handling or long shifts.
- Drinking water and proper ventilation will be provided to ensure a comfortable working environment.
- Any incidents of illness or injury will be reported immediately and addressed promptly.
Responsibilities
Management: Ensure safety policies are implemented, resources are provided, and regular safety audits are conducted.
Employees: Follow safety guidelines, report hazards or incidents, and participate in safety training.
Customers/Visitors: Adhere to instructions and signage to maintain a safe shopping environment.
Reporting and Review
- Any accidents, near-misses, or safety concerns must be reported to the store manager immediately.
- This policy will be reviewed annually or following any significant incident to ensure it remains effective and relevant.
