The Rode Newsshooter Digital Wireless System and Handheld Reporter Interview Mic Kit from B&H includes a Rode RX-Cam camera-mounted wireless receiver and a TX-XLR wireless transmitter, a Rode Reporter handheld omnidirectional microphone, a padded zip pouch, and a microphone flag. It can be used to capture audio for presentations, and electronic news gathering (ENG) and more.

The wireless system uses a Series II 2.4 GHZ digital transmission with 128-bit encryption and is able to constantly monitor and hop between frequencies to maintain the strongest signal level at a range of up to 328'. The receiver features an OLED display with information on level, battery status, mute, and channel selection. The transmitter connects to handheld presentation microphones via XLR as well as shotgun microphone with a 1/8" input and headphone output.

The Reporter microphone is tailored for voice and is built with an ergonomic die-cast aluminum alloy body. It is coated in a discrete matte black anti-glare finish and is supplied with a removable microphone flag that can accommodate high-visibility branding. It is built with a multi-layer mesh basket for wind protection.

The RODELink Newsshooter Kit from RODE is a wireless system for ENG (Electronic News Gathering) using series II 2.4 GHz digital transmission and 128-bit encryption. The system is able to constantly monitor and hop between frequencies to maintain the strongest possible signal level at a range of up to 328'. Both units are battery powered and can run for up to seven hours.

The receiver (RX-CAM) features an OLED display with information on level, battery status, mute, and channel selection. Underneath the OLED display, you'll find a pad that can attenuate signals between 0 and -20 dB. The receiver can be mounted on a standard camera shoe-mount with a 3/8" thread or a belt-clip. Through its on-board, locking 3.5mm dual-mono jack, you can monitor and/or record audio signal.

In addition to boasting its own OLED panel for monitoring battery and output level, the transmitter (TX-XLR) easily connects to XLR handheld presentation microphones as well as 3.5mm shotgun microphones and powered lavaliers. The transmitter provides 48V phantom power through its XLR input and plug-in power through the 3.5mm TRS input. If you're on the transmitting end of the signal, you can monitor the audio feed through its 3.5mm headphone jack.

Please note, however, that you cannot operate two microphones at the same time.

With all the above features, the RODELink Newsshooter Kit provides everything you need to start shooting video wirelessly with microphones boasting XLR or 3.5mm connections, be they a dynamic handheld capsule, powered shotgun mic, or compatible lavalier.

The receiver can interface with up to eight different TX-XLR transmitters, and you can use the channel switcher to select between each individual transmitter; please note, however, that you can only receive audio actively from one transmitter at a time

Rode Reporter Omnidirectional Handheld Interview Microphone

The Reporter Omnidirectional Handheld Interview Microphone from Rode is designed for interview and presentation uses. Its transducer capsule is shock mounted internally for rejection of wind and other low frequency environmental noises. With an internal plosive screen that rejects vocal plosives (pops), the Reporter Microphone is suited for both field reporting and interviews.

Rode designed the Reporter Microphone with a frequency response tailored for field reporting. The Reporter Microphone rejects frequencies below 70Hz, which are the source of most wind and various environmental noises. It also features a boost between 4 and 10kHz to help accentuate speech.

The Reporter Microphone's omnidirectional pickup pattern was designed to eliminate the need to move the microphone back and forth during interviews. With 360 degrees of pickup, the Reporter Microphone can be placed between you and your interview subject without the need to adjust its placement when the other person talks. The Reporter Microphone also features an internal multi-layer mesh basket that acts as a windscreen, avoiding the need for an external wind shield.
