PocketWizard Plus IIIe Transceiver (US Frequency: 340-354 MHz (FCC/IC))
PocketWizard has an exciting new upgrade for their Plus III with the introduction of the Plus IIIe Tranceiver that features 112 channels and an (E Release) extended maximum wireless range of up to 5 miles!
The Plus IIIe has a total of 112 channels: 32 Quad-Zone E Channels and 80 Long Range Quad-Zone LR channels. Besides eliminating interference this also allows you to trigger flashes in 4 separate (A, B, C, D) zones when doing multiple setups. Auto-Sensing automatically selects the transmitter or receiver mode appropriate to the setup. Auto-Sensing also works in tandem with Auto-Relay mode to allow you to trigger a remote camera along with remote flashes. Two-Stage Triggering technology wakes and focuses your camera when partially depressing the test button, then fires it by fully depressing the button. The original Plus III was known for its long 1600' triggering range but the Plus IIIe's extended wireless rage allows shooting from distances up to 5 miles!
Good news for photographers, the Plus IIIe and Plus IVe are compatible with each other out of the box, but "non-e" Plus IVs and Plus IIIs can be upgraded by PocketWizard for a small charge. If you purchased "non-e" versions on or after 9/1/2019, the upgrade is free.
Long Range Capability
When used in ideal conditions, this transceiver is capable of producing and receiving a signal 5 miles away in Long Range mode while the older Plus III had a range of just 1600'
With 112 channels, the PocketWizard Plus IIIe Transceiver enables you to trigger individual or groups of lights simultaneously or individually. This is critical for working in crowded venues or with multiple lighting set-ups.
You can program up to 4 working zones for remote control of flashes. This allows you the ability to wirelessly activate and deactivate your flashes, enabling you to remain in camera position without having to manually adjust lighting setups. This is ideal for using multiple lighting setups and managing remote cameras as needed.
With its patented Auto-Sensing Transceiver technology, the Plus IIIe Transceiver may be set to transmit (Tx) or receive (Rx) independently if needed.
Using 3 PocketWizard radios utilizing the Auto-Sensing technology, the transceiver mounted to the camera can instantly receive a signal from an auxiliary transceiver, and then instantly convey the transmission to a remote flash.
High Speed Capability
When in High Speed Receive mode, this transceiver is capable of triggering cameras or flashes up to 14.5 fps.
Two-Stage Remote Camera Triggering
The Plus IIIe Transceiver is the perfect solution for remote camera triggering. The unique two-stage TEST button on the Plus IIIe works just like the shutter release button on your camera. Press it halfway and your remote camera wakes up to meter and focus. Press TEST all the way to take your photo. When released, your remote camera will return to sleep mode normally: a real battery saver.
Simple User Interface and Design
Clearly displayed on a 1" / 2.5cm backlit LCD, all of the channels, zones, and modes can be configured using a soft-touch keypad. The design of the transceiver also incorporates a side-view LCD for easier viewing.
