Pinnacle's Studio 17 Ultimate (Boxed Version) is a user-friendly and efficient video editing software for the enthusiast/semi-professional editor. Much of the workflow is drag-and-drop, and the interface is mainly thumbnail-based. Rendering is up to 10x faster than in previous versions when editing in the AVC H.264 codec. The timeline offers unlimited video and audio tracks and can be expanded to display single frames for frame-accurate editing.

Studio 17 Ultimate supports 3D workflows and will support 4K Ultra HD video per a free firmware update scheduled for release shortly. (You will be sent an email notification upon release of the update.) 3D support includes importing 3D clips from camera systems like GoPro 3D, editing them on the timeline, and exporting them to YouTube 3D or to DVD disc for viewing on 3D HDTVs. Studio 17 Ultimate also features a Live Screen Capture function that allows you to record whatever you see on your computer screen for the purpose of creating how-to tutorials or simply for incorporation into your projects.

Studio 17 Ultimate features over 2000 keyframe-based effects, titles, transitions, and Montage templates, and a library of royalty-free music and sounds from Scorefitter. The Montage templates include themes like wedding, holiday, sci-fi, and comics and are customizable to your preferences. Studio 17 Ultimate also includes Red Giant's Filmmaker's Toolkit and Motion Graphics Toolkit, and iZotope's Music & Speech Cleaner for enhancing audio and removing unwanted noise. Studio 17 Ultimate comes with 50GB of free cloud storage from Box. 25GB are available right away and 25GB more will be provided upon product registration. Cloud storage will allow you to save files/projects in the cloud and access them from any internet-enabled computer.

In addition to timeline editing, Studio 17 Ultimate also features a Storyboard mode where you can create rough cuts of your projects and visualize how the projects will look in the end. This will let you edit in a more ordered manner back in the timeline. There's also a SmartMovie mode that automatically creates a finished project for you with whatever video and audio clips you designate. SmartMovie mode is useful for quickly creating cuts of family videos. Studio 17 Ultimate also features a Blu-ray and DVD authoring function for burning Blu-ray/DVD discs and creating disc menus. Studio 17 Ultimate is compatible with Windows 8, 7, and Vista and supports 64-bit processors/operating systems.

Studio 17 Ultimate renders up to 10x faster when working in AVC H.264 files, and it supports 64-bit computers, NVIDIA CUDA, and Intel Quick Sync Video for hardware/software acceleration.
Live Screen Capture
This feature lets you record whatever you see on your computer screen, including gameplay. It's useful for creating how-to tutorials and general presentations, and you can also add the recordings to your editing projects.
Stereoscopic 3D Support
Studio 17 Ultimate supports importing, editing, and exporting 3D footage for viewing on 3D HDTVs and other displays. Studio 17 Ultimate also supports optional NVIDIA 3D Vision and GeForce optimization. With NVIDIA 3D Vision, you can view 3D on dual monitors and export "side-by-side" formats recognized by most 3D HDTVs. You can auto-color correct for both eyes and control stereoscopic 3D depth (parallax effect).
Support for Pinnacle Studio for iPad
Studio 17 Ultimate supports working with Pinnacle's Studio for iPad app, sold separately. With Studio for iPad, you can start editing projects on an iPad, and then transfer them into Studio 17 Ultimate for polishing.
50GB Cloud Access
Studio 17 Ultimate comes with 50GB of cloud access from Box, allowing you to access your project files from any internet-enabled computer. 25GB are instantly available and an additional 25GB are provided upon product registration.
2000+ Effects & Red Giant Plug-Ins
Studio 17 Ultimate features over 2000 effects/titles/transitions/Montage templates and Red Giant's Filmmaker's Toolkit and Motion Graphics Toolkit. The Montage templates include themes like wedding, holiday, sci-fi, and comics and are customizable to your preferences. Organize, Tag, and Polish Files within the Media Library
Organize your video, photo, and music files by tagging, rating, and grouping them for organized access to them. And you can correct and enhance these files right inside the media library editor before dropping them into the timeline. You can color-correct video and stabilize shaky footage; crop, pan, zoom, and eliminate red eye from photos; and equalize and clean up noisy audio.
