Volvo P1800 Engine Oil Change

Based on my blog record, the engine oil of my Volvo P1800 was changed nearly a year ago, on the 1 August 2023. That’s one of the good thing about blogging.

I noticed the dirty oil from the oil stick of my Volvo last week, it was so dark that I can’t barely stand it. Wanted to do it immediately but have to wait till the weekends free time. Went for oil change service at my usual trusted mechanic shop on the Sunday morning.

As usual, I prepared my own engine oil, oil filter, and copper o-ring for the oil plug. The magnetic oil plug was purchased during the last oil change. The Mann Filter was an old stock that I purchased from USA, original Mann Filter vs those sold locally in Malaysia that has poor printing. I used a stocked Castrol GTX 20W-50 that I found in my rack at home. I think I got that during the last gearbox oil change. Last year I was using Castrol GTX Ultraclean 15W-40.

It took half and hour for the oil change service, including cleaning up the air filters. RM30 service fee, well worth.
