Jaguar MK 2 Center Console with Blaupunkt Radio + Speaker + Grill from ebay – Just Purchased!

While browsing around in ebay, I happened to saw this nice set of Blaupunkt radio + speaker in the Jaguar MK 2 dash set.

I thought that was a pretty good deal at US$88 for a compete set of center console with Blaupunkt radio and speaker and grill some more.

In my previous search of a Jaguar MK 2, one is missing the center console, so I have actually checked around for the price of the center console, and it costs around US$100 for the center console alone without grill, speaker or radio. Or, if you purchase the speaker grill alone, the price is also around US$100. Speaker is another costly thing, and the vintage Blaupunkt radio itself can easily fetch above US$100. Of course, condition of the radio and speaker are unknown, and I am not expecting much from a 60 years old item.

Since my current Jaguar MK2 already has a center console, but a wrong radio, so I don’t want to spend too much on this not so critical item.

Hence I submitted my offer of US30 for the set, but got counter offer of US$57 from the seller. I submitted another offer of US$50 for the set, and viola, the seller accepted the offer. That includes a free shipping by the seller, which is a good deal I got.

Another fun part of restoring a classic car.

Just received my purchase. Pretty heavy stuff. Haven’t tested it yet, keep for future upgrade.
