A New Dream Car has Arrived! Jaguar MK2 2.4 Manual in Malaysia

Finally, after a long long wait…since the first deposit paid on the 7th May 2024…I have finally received the Jaguar MK 2 in Johor.

As the car was parked in the car park of an condominium, so the owner has to get a tow truck to tow the car to the main road, then only can the Jag be loaded to a flat bed tow truck to tow from KL to JB. That’s a 350km distance tow.

I book the flat bed tow truck a day before, but there was some problem with the driver. Last minute only told me his truck got problem. He arranged another tow company to tow the Jag, but charge extra RM100. Initial agreed price was RM900, and now RM1000. Still, cheaper than the other two that I asked (which was RM1200 and RM1600).

This one is called BEN TOWING, which seems to be quite good and professional. Recommend to use their service in future, Helmi with phone number +60183844475.

The driver departed from KL at 2pm, took 4 hours drive, so reached my place at around 6.20pm. I called the driver twice, to check the status/location. Eager to see the car. I waited outside my shop, excited to see the tow truck from far.

I then lead the way to direct the tow truck to tow the Jag to my trusted workshop.

The Jag looks solid. Body is very straight with surface rust. Engine bay looks a bit bad though…not complete and there are bad rust in several areas. As the compartment is painted in black, so they are not so visible.

Inside the car, although rusty parts have mostly been tackled, but it still need a fresh coat of paint. Many parts still have surface rust.

Overall, I think this is still a good buy at RM50k. I even bought an spare gearbox from the seller at RM300. This is going to be a long project…and lots for me to learn from this Jag!

Thank God for the gift, thanks to my wife for the support, and all my friends (Lua Bo Feng for helping me to check out the car personally in KL, Suchen for helping to checkout the deal in Sabah, and others who encourage me to dive into this blackhole!).
