When the current owner bought the Volvo P1800 10 years ago, it comes with a wooden steering wheel.
It might looks sporty at that time (60s or 70s), but in today’s standard, that’s ugly. So the current owner change it to a more stylish steering wheel instead of going back to the original Volvo steering wheel.
This is a 1966 steering wheel from Volvo.
This is the actual sporty steering wheel in the car now.
I google for Moto-Lita and found that this company is actually from UK. The design should be the:
Mark Four Leather Rim (Dished)
£176.00 Excl VAT £211.20 Inc VAT
https://www.moto-lita.co.uk/steering-wheels/mark-four-leather-rim-dished/
Oversea shipping should be Excl. VAT and that’s still a RM1,000 before shipping.
In the current owner’s design, the boss has been extended as the owner said he always accidentally hit the signal stick and the overdrive stick when turning. This steering wheel also has a quick release boss that can be pull to detach the steering wheel easily. Feel like a Formula 1 driver seat design…LOL…
Horn is working at the center, and the Volvo logo at the center is actually a stick on by the owner. Not from Moto-Lita.
I think the oversea cost of the steering wheel + boss kit is easily RM2k. Another good saving for me for the design. I like the steering wheel vs the original Volvo HUGE wheel design.
