Loving my job. Got a new lens to play around.

Manual focus lens. Paired it to my Sony A7R IV body. Small and light. Turning the focus ring on the lens auto trigger the camera viewfinder or LCD into zoom in mode (magnified), so you can see the center subject clearly when manual focusing.

The lens is sharp, at least at the center. Easy to focus to get sharp image. Some light fall off at corners, but I don’t think that is an issue. Create nice vintage feel in B&W photos.

However, a challenge shooting with this ultra wide angle lens is that very often you will get the horizon tilted. Not so easy to get a perfectly level horizon when you try to handhold this lens at low angle view. Need to do some correction in post processing later in the computer software (I use Corel Paint Shop Pro).

I did a bit of straightening in this shot too, to make the poll straight and not tilt to one side.

Minimal to no barrel distortion that I can see, but vignetting at corners is quite obvious.

Being a f/4.5 aperture lens, you don’t get much bokeh from it, but not too bad and not distracting bokeh neither.

Didn’t expect myself to like this lens, but now I think it is a fun lens to play around.
