My wife and I have a goal for year 2021, that’s to keep our body fit and healthy.

We used to go to gym in 2019, but stopped in 2020 due to COVID-19. Our bodies are showing weight gain…and less muscle.

Every time we went to gym we would first warm up by jogging on a treadmill. Sometimes 10 minutes, at most 30 minutes. We got used to the feel on treadmill, which is quite OK for us. Those treadmills we used in the gym are from Technogym and Life Fitness.

Since we don’t want to go to gym now…we have wanted to get a treadmill for our home use. I tried checkout some used units in Facebook, contacted some sellers but didn’t pull trigger. Mainly because the price is just way too high.

I finally found an used one from a recycle shop owner at just RM850, where new unit is RM3000+. The seller delivered the unit to my house, I tested few minutes and the whole treadmill just shaking badly when I jog on it. That unit weighing just 60kg, home use type. I told the seller I couldn’t take it and asked him to take it back. That was two months back.

Delayed for too long…so I think it is time to just pulled the trigger.

Few days ago I contacted a few Facebook sellers that sell either Life Fitness or Technogym treadmill. One contacted me back immediately but she is not in JB. Yesterday I got a reply from another seller and his warehouse is just nearby (30 minutes drive). I told him I will visit him today.

At around 11.30am today, 3rd Jan, my birthday, I am at the seller’s warehouse. There are a few nice treadmills there, mainly Technogym brand. Three units are in very good condition, the RUN NOW 500 model. There is also a JOG FORMA unit available, condition is slightly used, RM6500. RUN 500 was supposed to be RM8000 as told by the seller over the phone and whatsapp, but then he wanted RM15K now.

After some discussion and negotiation, we finally decided on the RUN 500 model. We chose one that we think is of best condition among the 3, and set the delivery time. Yeah, the seller can deliver the same day today. RM8000.

I took a photo of the serial number of the unit, and there is a production year code there as well. 06/15, sounds like June 2015. Model DAK6EL, which is Technogym RUN NOW 500

This is a heavy treadmill, weighs 220kg. This is the reason why it is stable, simple physic.

This is a huge treadmill, more for gym centre use than home. But I have tried this treadmill in gym centre, hence I am more confident in it than other model.

Control panel is simple. Not the more advance LCD type that can connect to internet for Youtube watching or APP.

This is my living room…a bit crowded…my bike on trainer is at the side.

Besides the treadmill, I also aimed at one of the gym equipment, the multi gyms UNICA. Treadmill is good for cardio, but I want to build up my muscles as well. Technogym has a small home use UNICA series. Brand new price is RM33,470 per unit, inclusive of delivery/installation services and a 2 years warranty program. Definitely not affordable to me.

The seller has an used unit, and he wanted quite high price for it, RM8000. Condition looks quite new, so I took that as well. After delivered then only I found some rust on the parts, and one cushion got a little tear…but I think still above 95% new overall. Still a good buy.

I found a nice and comprehensive list of exercise that Unica can do. Quite good and comprehensive. Must watch if one wanted to use all the parts and pieces correctly.

There is a shortcut of those exercise printed on the UNICA, but too simple to understand…
