First saw this light two weeks ago at Khass bicycle shop in Taman Perling, Johor Bahru, Malaysia. Priced at RM160. Quite a good price for a 500 Lumens LED light. Cateye Volt 300 is RM165 from an online seller, which is of similar price but lower lumens.
For daylight usage, both are good enough. However, for night ride, the brighter is definitely the better. I checked some Youtube video comparison, and the Lezyne gives brighter light and wider average brightness than Cateye. Both are good and popular brands, so their lumens indication should be fairy accurate. Don’t trust those no brand lights that has written high Lumens but in actual is way too small…or the battery won’t last long.
Performance seems pretty decent:
I paid RM160 for Khass to post to me, as I have no time to go to their shop (around 40mins drive from my place). They use PosLaju, and normally they charge RM10 for shipping but this time they waived it for me as I bought some items from them last time.
Almost fully equipped for another outdoor ride! (I need a pair of gloves)
Update 28th September 2018
Got my Lezyne 500XL yesterday. Very solid light in hand, CNC machined aluminum construction.
Small enough to fit into your hand.
I mount it on my bike in upside down position.
Bright and secure.
