Free Up Windows 7 Memory Cache

Have you noticed that after using Windows for a few hours…the computer becomes so very slow? That could be due to the internal memory of the computer being taken up heavily by all the programs that you have opened before.

So, the simple way is to RESTART your computer. However, this is time consuming and is frustrating if we have to do that over and over every few hours.

The simpler way is to FLUSH the memory. Yes, flush is the correct word, just like flushing your toilet when it is full.

How?

Step 1

Create a shortcut by right clicking your mouse on your desktop, go to New, then go to Shortcut.

Step 2

When asked for the location, enter the following and click Next:

%windir%\system32\rundll32.exe advapi32.dll,ProcessIdleTasks

Step 3

When asked to type a name for the shortcut, type whatever name you want. Eg. Flush memory, and press Finish button.

Step 4

Now that you have created a shortcut on your desktop. Point your mouse over it and double click to run it.

You shall now feel your computer responding better to your command and run smoother. 🙂
