With news of more and more states change government…with new systems, new chief minister, new staffs…are you worried?!
This is the first time Oppositions won so big in Malaysia history!
DAP representing Chinese mainly…
PKR is a mix of all…
PAS representing Malays mainly…
Honestly my heart is pumping very fast now…I am not sure if this is a good or bad future of Malaysia…what say you?!
Change is good- especially at state level . Because then the new govt can do a clean up at many levels. Starting with the way land has been awarded, and the way land offices have been operating!
It is good to get rid of the corrupt officials!!
Now the opposition got enough power to stop UMNO from being overboard… I am sure, we have better people to work for the people and achieve better results for the country both economically and socially!
Seriously I have the same worry as well..but it’s time to change..even if we have to go through a hard time, right?
What makes you so certain PKR or DAP is only for respective races? That was the perception painted by BN! I think if anything, BN has proved that race-based politics don’t work well in the long term.
well, to grow into a better place for all, malaysia definitely needs an opposition voice to act as a check and balance to the government! why should you be afraid?? we shouldn’t be afraid of the government, instead, THEY should be afraid of US! THEY should work FOR US, not the other way round. we voted for them, not the other way round!
when one is too arrogant they stop listening to everyone but themselves.
so…it’s a good thing. (^_^)
it would certainly be a better decision to change than to continue on in this state. Even if things don’t go well, we’ll always have the next election.
I am not afraid of the new state government actually, but worried about the impact of changes, eg. Investors, police force, new rules/law, etc.
Kelantan is practicing rest day on Friday, replacing Sunday. I sure don’t want to see this happens in Penang nor Selangor… 🙁
I am rather concerned. If you really think of it.. DAP’s wins only equates to MCA’s lose. Far and large, this will deny non-malay’s voice within the party component in the federal govenments, in which BN will win. Tho sentiments are split between who should win or lose, i feel that many good leaders even within the BN component fell victim to the the party sentiments. Even PPP and Gerakan figureheads fell off.
While that, PAS and PKR’s wins will deny BN majority, i would be more comfortable for DAP to maintain its wins with a slight up and down like last year… and if a swing were to take place, to be from PAS or PKR.
we’re the boss.
come 4/5 years from now, we’ll vote again.
Hey you are promoting BN’s divisive race based policies. Are you afraid of change yourself. Do you want to be abused by BN like what we have been experiencing all this while. All Malaysians have been waiting for this change a better Malaysia for all anak Bangsa Malaysia. I think after so many years we have been brainwashed by BN via STAR and NSTP to believe their race based polices are the best. We need to open up our mind, the world is changing and there is no turning back. The only thing constant is change. There is nothing to fear except fear itself.
well.. we just have to go through these 4-5 years and just calculate and research what they have done for us. And if they’re good, vote for them again. if they’re not..then, dont! 😀
From DAP updates:
“Sory for the long silence; both Sivarasa and Elizabeth took over for a while, crunching numbers and analysing. The latter to the former: “How can you keep so calm?†The exhilaration is somewhat tempered, however. Sivarasa is worried that the opposition candidates are currently leading seem to be Chinese or Indian in ethnicity; “We need strong Malay leaders,†he says, thinking of unified party strength. But the Malaysiakini report is still largely incomplete. Elizabeth, pulling ahead, is of the opinion that the opposition’s apparent lead is “a vote of no confidence†to the BN government. “We have to work hard,†she says.”
A simple worry from me a born in Malaysia Chinese:
1. I do not want to have Islamic law practice in my State/Country.
2. I do not want the change of public holiday from Sunday to Friday.
These TWO are currently being practiced in Kelantan.
I am not sure how PAS and DAP are going to work together. DAP is having collaboration with PKR, but how about PAS now? They are now tied up to form the States government…
This is good because now we will have a credible opposition and can finally work towards a two party system. Both parties will be on their toes so that they know in election results could be either way. Finally the rakyat will be the boss, as it should have always been.
Why worry? We can’t change our country but we can always change the government! The Rakyat had spoken “We want change! and we are not STUPID!
Syabas! to the winning parties and to the voters who had voted for change!
Your worries are baseless i think. All these years, I’ve never encountered a single non-muslim friend from Kelantan who is complaining about any one of your concerns listed.
Rest assured that Alternative Front will keep to their promise and be true to their manifesto.
Stop worrying yourself too much. Obviously you’ve been brainwashed by BN’s media all this while to see Alternative Front as evil.
Hi techsupremo,
No, I am not saying or hinting that I am pro or con BN or Oppositions. I am just raising my worry as a Chinese, I guess you are not. 😉
Hey, bro, be a WARRIOR not a WORRIER! A spiritual warrior, that is, a Samurai for justice, truth, decency, compassion, goodwill, honesty, and unicversal love. Be part of tghe change. That’s Evolution! 🙂
Comfirmed. Penang want to change. Time to change.
Frankly speaking, i too worry. But not as a malay, not as an indian, not as a chinese. But as a malaysian.
But again i look at this as a good change to us MALAYSIANS. Maybe now we can call ourselves that instead of by our racial names.
Too long has us MALAYSIANS have been denied by that chance. Rejoice my fellow Malaysian. 😀
I think we are a very unique generation that have the chance to witness the change. 🙂
let’s hope for the better tomorrow!
Start worrying as a Malaysian instead of as a Chinese, then you might be seeing a different light out of all these.
Peace and Growth for all Malaysian, regardless who the government should be.
If Malaysians are united, we wouldn’t even need to worry bout our skin color.
Hi Lays,
When I went to a house showroom…they asked:”Chinese? Sorry…these are reserved for bumiputra…you have to pay higher price since you are Chinese…”
There is never equal…unless the government first makes it equal for us = all Malaysians are equal regardless of race, colour, religion…etc.
I told my Japanese friends that I am a Malaysian, not from China but born in Malaysia and am a Malaysian…but then he asked:”Are you having different levels of Malaysians?”
I don’t know how to answer… 🙁
i’m glad that the oppositions have taken some of BN’s state…well cant really say that i would love if the whole country falls under the opposition(cos not ALL! what BN did was bad, they do have SOME good things which they did and i would love it to stay like that)..at least now BN is still under control, but they wont have a majority say like they used too(which they sometimes can be a bit bullish before this.its kinda like BN is like ur big brother who will beat other kids who bullied u,but who will also demand ur sweets cos ur powerless againts him) ..and finally we will see how well does the oppositions can actually make changes like they were promising and and hopefuly keeping it..well starting with the states that they won..lets all keep an eye and ear on it…i assume change is good if its not too drastic..well thats my opinion…
Lays, KhoKing n whatMeWorry, Be confident with our new CM. Give DAP 5yrs chance to lead our PG State Government, free corruption country, clean environment and be Malaysia’s MALAYSIAN.
i’m quite worried, but it is proven after 50 years of ruling, BN did not do much, in fact they have become more and more corrupt. Extravagance projects, the issue of PATI etc. Give others a chance to rule so that there will be balance of power.
about islamic law, PAS gov cannot enact it because the Fed. Gov did not allow it. (Islamic law is just for muslims, others no need to worry about it) peace… 🙂
The more fear we harbor, the less love we feel for ourselves and everything and everybody around us. That’s when External Authority steps in (disguised as Government, whether secular or religious) and confiscates our autonomy, our dignity, our freedom of thought and expression, and our destiny. So whenever worry arises and anxiety brings out the worst in you… banish fear by transforming into Shiva and dancing the cosmic tandava by which all worlds are created, destroyed, and regenerated from the wisdom seeds of the previous cycle. Enjoy the New Reality before you, my friends. You are so fortunate to be living witnesses to the emergence of a wholesome Malaysian ethos!
Pls visit Kelantan and stay there for a while (say few days). Go around and see yourself how the non-muslim in Kelantan. Ask them whether the Kelantan Govt has treated them unfairly. In Kelantan, no temple has been demolished. The biggest sleeping Buddha is in Kelantan. Malay is the majority in Kelantan but non-Malays are not discriminated.
Well, change is never easy thats for sure. I am worried about changes the most and yet sometimes change can be good. Its how we as Malaysian citizen make the best of who we are don’t loose our identity, I say Malaysian’s are unique and dynamic group of people. Whether BA / BN they are elected officials “Human” also and they are suppose to lead Malaysia and Malaysian’s to good and properous direction the best they can. I am a Malaysian and I love my country and proud, do you all know every country we go to Malaysian’s are revered as friendly people and pleasant coutry to live in? Please lets all work together to build better and brighter Malaysia and be proud to be Malaysian’s. All this articles about bickering is really terrible and when its going to end its not doing us any good that’s why most people are worried, where is the direction we were promised?
Whats in the pass is in the pass, push forward I say and make a better future, we can’t change the past only decide what is best for the future of all citizen of Malaysia. To our elected officials “MOVE FORWARD!” There is so much to learned and loved for Malaysia…
Correction, Friday has always been the rest days for those unfederated Malay States. Only Johor changed it to Sunday. But what’s the big issue. If you go to church, you still go to church.
As for Islamic law, we tend to harbor enmity towards what we do not understand. Don’t simply let your emotions and sentiments cloud your judgment.
Don’t buy-in into Mahathir’s equation of Islamic Law=Cutting Hands.
my worry is no more “pork” in the market
Look at where the governement is talking about. 2020. In 2020 the salaries will go up two and a half times. That is what the goverment said. And the prices will go up four times. That is not what the goverment said.
Oh. I heard a rumor. They told me. Goverment change the plan. It is now 3030.
who ever come to win also, all will do the same thing, pls, instead make the country peace eliminate poverty, equal caring all races ,saying 1 malaysia ,not only simple words its manthra to all malaysian living
