(Lens is NOT included)
The Voigtlander Bessa-R2M and R3M Rangefinder Camera, features a mechanical shutter release, while being otherwise identical in all other apsects to the R2A version.
Thus it is possible to use the camera even without batteries, (however without being able to use the cameras TTL centerweighted light metering).
The R2M offers a .7 magnification viewfinder with 35/50/75/90 framelines, while the identical R3M offers a 1:1 life size view finder, with 40/50/75/90 framelines.
A R2 rangefinder camera, is in itself an advancment over the original Bessa R camera, the R2A/M goes even further improving the camera. With an exceptionally bright viewfinder, a quiet shutter and a simple LED metering system, the camera maintains all of the original Bessa R's outstanding features.
And while many of the Bessa R's parts were made of plastic, the R2 now incorporates them in metal, thearby offering a more solid and durable feeling camera wuth superior rubberized and andonized body covering materials.
With an AE (Auto-Exposure) Aperture Priority mode, and a plus/minus 2 stops compensation on AE which the R2 did not offer, the Cosina-made R2M offers some major improvements going forward still further. The viewfinder features a split image rangefinder patch and brightlines for 35, 50, 75 & 90mm lenses.
The M-type Bayonet Leica lensmount will accept all of the 39mm screwmount lenses from Leica & Voigtlander and Canon, with the appropriate adapter, as well as of course the M bayonet-type lenses from Leica, Minolta & Konica.
It is also compatible with the Voigtlander Trigger Winder, whic was originaly introducedwith the Bessa T model. the Nikon FM3A dioptric correction lenses are compatible as well. The Voigtlander Bessa cameras are very light, unobtrusive cameras ideal for handheld lowlight shooting.
With a smaller distance between the film and the lens mount than SLRs, this rangefinder camera styled guite like the original collapsible Leitz 50/2 Summicron of 1953 vintage, offers you inherently sharper lenses, with the quietest shutter of the Cosina Voigtlander Bessas, nearly as quiet as the Leica M8.
