• Formula MC was developed when camera and filter manufacturers began putting anti-reflective multi-coatings on their lenses and filters to reduce flare and improve picture quality. Some current filters have as many as 5 to 6 anti-reflective coatings.
• It’s been found that many conventional and anti-fog liquid lens cleaners tend to leave “smears” or “smudges” on the surface of multi-coated lenses and filters.
• The cleaning agents in these cleaners leave a superfine residue on the lens or filters surface. It’s this superfine coating that causes “fog” or water not to form on the lens or filter surface, providing the “anti-fog action.
• These “smears” or “smudges” don’t do any physical harm to the lens or filter, but they can be very difficult to remove.
• Formula MC was developed to solve this problem by using special chemicals that gently cleanse and clean multi-coated filters or lenses without leaving any chemical residue behind on the lens or filter surface.
• Because Formula MC does not leave residue behind on the lens or filter surface, it is not an anti-fog cleaner.
