The Fujifilm A220 is based around a 12.2 megapixel 1/2.3" CCD image sensor and a Fujinon-branded 3x optical zoom lens that offers focal range equivalents of 32 to 96mm. The Fuji A220's lens has a maximum aperture that varies from F2.9 to F5.2 across the zoom range. There's no mechanical image stabilization, with the A220 featuring only what Fuji calls "Picture Stabilization", where the camera raises ISO sensitivity to achieve faster shutter speeds that freeze action at the expense of some added noise or reduced fine detail. Images are framed and reviewed on a 2.7" LCD display with 230,000 dot resolution, as there's no optical viewfinder on the A220.
