In addition to being a user-friendly digital compass, the FishTrack also uses an array of integrated sensors to provide environmental data like temperature, air pressure, and altitude. This includes lightning detection up to 15 miles away for safety for users who will generally be working on or around large water bodies. Other useful functions of the FishTrack include a sunrise/sunset and moon phase display, as well as predictive fishing information. The FishTrack internal memory can log up to 48 hours of trip data and up to 25 waypoint locations. The built-in temperature and barometric pressure sensors are useful tools for determining elevation change, dramatic weather changes, and optimal fishing times.
This device has a USB port and is compatible with Google Earth, Mac and Windows-compatible BackTrack software, which allow the data on the FishTrack to be viewed and saved on your computer. The water-resistant device housing is rubberized around its outer edge and on its buttons for enhanced grip; an attachment point for a lanyard or carabiner also makes the FishTrack a well-equipped GPS compass for day hikes, a day on the water, or almost any outdoor adventure.
