Since I now carry my MacBook Air to work and back home most of the time, so I have to force learning to use another photo editing software in Mac instead of waiting till I got to my office and use my favorite Paint Shop Pro in Windows to do editing.
Many have been praising Adobe Lightroom so much, so I guess I won’t go wrong with that…and today, finally I have forced myself to learn some basic things on Lightroom. I didn’t even know how to “SAVE AS” photos from Lightroom to desktop and then upload to my blog!
Yeah…finally I can share some photos on my blog…

Some random shots that I took…

Ok, more to learn and share later…

Megumi is now in Kindergarten 1, so everyday will have some homework to be finished.
Of course, Lydia is the guardian for Megumi homeworking…since she is smarter than I (I am sure she is going to read this later…)
Always happy on the start…

Very energetic…

Start to feel the challenge…

Need some assistance from mum…

Mum’s lips start longering already…

Now Megumi’s mouth longering…

Megumi:”hh..h…”

Finally…as usual-lah…

(All photo above are taken with Nikon AFS 28-70mm F2/8 Lens + D3s, except the last photo with a AF 28-100m lens… )

With my new toy…I got excited and mood to shoot again…
The shot was taken on a D3s + Nikkor AF 24mm F/2.8D lens.
1/30s, f/2.8, ISO 1250
A full frame view

Very sharp and clean image even at 100% view. No color shift and all detail retains. The above is original shot without any editing or sharpening.
A bit of processing and you will have an attractive color, contrast and sharpness.

More shots in the same series…(Sorry for the yellowish downlight)

Going to try with WB correction later.

Bought the puzzle game for her last night. It comes with a story book actually. Two in one, and costs RM30+. I think puzzle game is good for kids, so is worth spending. Megumi loves puzzle game.

Have to pursue her long long in order to get this shot…

From another angle…

Shall I frame it? Looking for walls at home to hang photos now…

Megumi loves colouring, and I think she is quite talented in colouring.
My wife printed out and Megumi coloured the below crown herself. She then request us to cut and make the crown into a wearable one. She is quite happy.

Some shots taken using my new toy…
Megumi in the garden, watering our home plant vegetables.
Nikon D700 + AFD 60 Micro: ISO 200, 1/100s, f/5. +0.3 step.

I find continuous focus tracking is quite good on the D700. Can get sharp photo with Megumi cycling towards me.
Nikon D700 + AFD 60 Micro: ISO200, 1/125s, F/5.6.

Nikon D700 + AFD 60 Micro: ISO 200, 1/200s, F/7.1, +0.3 step.

Nikon D700 + AFS 28-70: ISO 1250, 1/50s, F/3.5, +3 step. Still very clean image, and colour is natural.

So far I must say that I am very happy with the performance of the D700. Bokeh is really smooth and good using FX lens in full frame.
Nikon D700 + AFS 28-70: ISO200, 1/60s, F/5, +0.3 step.

It was my birthday on 3rd Jan 2011…Megumi was very excited to light up the candles the day before already…and finally the moment came…

After blowing the candles…while blowing I forgot to take the shots…as was blowing together with her…it was my birthday mah…

I am quite please with the shots and light…using my SB-800 with Lambency diffuser, no harsh light effect.
(Simple cake without icing…need to keep my diet already…)

Some photos of my baby…

I was actually playing around with a Softbox Flash as in the picture below. Definitely very interesting light as compared to on camera flash.

If the above photos sucks…that’s because of my skill…not to blame the camera, model nor the softbox…

Preparing…

Lydia at the back, she is really proud to see Megumi beautifully!

Megumi was not feeling well that day, but she still want to join the events of her school. (We left in the middle to go and see the doctor and she was having fever till 38.4 degree C!)

Together with some other kids…

Some other shots…

Took few hours ago…
My lovely wife and Megumi…

Took in a rush, my SB-800 was flat without battery…so I have to use the built-in flash to fire and grab a few shots before Megumi went upstairs…

Got some cameras and lenses yesterday, so have my Megumi as model to test the performance.
The Canon EF 100mm f/2.8 USM Macro is really sharp! Shots were taken using Canon EOS 7D and 50D, with 580EX II mounted on it.

Megumi:”hai…”

Megumi:”my fingers tired already…done already or not?”

“wah…”

Look out for great bargains at ShaShinKi Used Corner soon!

Next Saturday, 14th June 2009, is the 2 years old birthday of my Megumi.
Sadly, I can’t celebrate with her, as she is with her mother in Perak and I have lots of work this coming week and next week.
Went out to buy a present for my baby…

What’s inside? Haha…I will let Megumi open it first before revealing.
Here’s a message for Megumi, she might not be able to read or understand now, but I hope she will read this blog when she grows up.

May God protect her, guide her, lead her, save her. In Jesus Christ’s name I prayed, amen.

Here are some photos that I have not posted before…
We drove from Hiroshima to Tokyo. Took nearly 12 hours, none stop…

We walked around in the city using MRT, as driving is inconvenient. Parking is a headache and expensive. We did drive to some places.

Saw this Christmas tree as according to my wife, and she said must take photo…

Tata…

MRT station…very much like Singapore, so not that difficult for those who have used MRT before.

Entrance…

Walking around in the street…

Megumi is fully protected. Autumn, quite cold already…

No tripod, no guli…so we use self-portrait most of the time. Sorry, Megumi not in the frame…

Still the best video conferencing software in the world. Tried Google video, yahoo video…etc., MSN though not perfect but still is among the best in delivering video quality.
(Background purposely blurred in Paint Shop Pro)
Megumi is boss pose eating porridge.

My wife and Megumi. Now Megumi want to hold the spoon herself.

I miss them both.
I bought two Logitech QuickCam® Family E3500 webcam for the above purpose, which I am quite happy with the quality of them. Delivering good quality photo (in Malaysia slow internet line service), good exposure and white balance.

The cam can be placed on the monitor screen easily, but no securely. No clip, but a V shape stand (can be adjusted) to put on the monitor. The design is fine, as clip sometimes does not match thick monitor.

Yesterday was the 5th Year Wedding Anniversary of my wife and I. My wife bought a cake for celebration…

Sorry, cake got “damaged” a bit during car break.
Still delicious lah…and you can see Megumi can’t wait to taste it out already…hahaa…
Thanks dear, I love you. May God blesses our marriage and love forever. In Jesus name I prayed, amen.

We have a family outing at Taiping Zoo yesterday.

At the entrance before going in. Ticket is RM8 for kids (3-8years old), RM12 for adults and RM10 for senior citizens (age 55 and above). The ticket counter said Taiping locals have RM4 discount…but we honestly tell her that we are not. Let’s support the local zoo.

We have to queue for the free tour car.

Elephant at the back.

At the fish / Koi pond.

Resting area before the exit. Raining the whole afternoon.

Da Yi (Foong’s sister).

Megumi’s favorite animal…BEAR!

Zebra and Giraffe.

Elephant.

We left the zoo at around 4.45pm. A 2 hours tour.

Chinese New Year 2009 in Miri
This is the first time Megumi came to Miri. I have not been back there, my home town, for 3 years+, since I went to Japan. Hmm…maybe not…I did went back during my sister’s wedding. Anyway, it is definitely Megumi’s first visit.
We went to my father’s house for Nien 30 dinner, which is a tradisional gathering of Chinese family.

My father in the middle (living room).

The cheong sam that Megumi wore was bought in Japan. I guess next year she can’t fit in anymore…
