Last week has been a hectic week for me. The recent slow internet connection of Streamyx to oversea server (especially US servers) has brought forward my plan of migrating the data of my USA server back to Malaysia.
There were over 11GB of data that needs to be transferred, for ShaShinKi.com alone. With the slow internet connections, it is quite impossible for me to use FTP or even SSH to do the data transfer via Streamyx line.
With the assistance from my Malaysia server provider (www.ipserverone.com), all ShaShinKi data was migrated successfully! Lee and Lee (Kenji) from IPServerOne have been of great help, assisting without asking for a cent! I have a dedicated server with them, but that does not warrant this kind of support from them. They do it volunteeringly, which really touches my heart. My server provider in USA on the other hand is money minded. Unmanaged server. Server rental cost has increased for at least 2 times, over 50% increment in the last 3 years. I can get a Intel Xeon powered server with RAID setting from IPServerOne for the money I paid to my US server provider.
Did I mention how fast is the server I have with IPServerOne now? Yes, VERY FAST! Accessing files on my server is like accessing files on my local hard drive (Ok, maybe a little slower). This is miles improvement as comparing to accessing my files on my USA server. My e-commerce site (http://shashinki.com) now flies! Yes, even on the slowmix line!
Photo / picture loading time has been extremely fast and smooth as well. I am glad that I have made the migration earlier, though the USA server I have paid the rental till Oct 2009 (can’t get back the money), but still it is better for me to move now than later.
I still have some of my sites in my USA server, eg. PentaxWorld.com. As that is an international site with members mostly from oversea, so I think it is better for us to continue having it on my USA server than moving it to Malaysia. Perhaps after Oct 2009, before the next bill of my USA server.
Hope you enjoy the fast loading speed of ShaShinKi.com!

Yes…I am back…after staying for nearly 3 years in Japan…I am finally back to the land of the my birth place.
It is glad to be back, though I still miss and like the life in Japan, but that is never my country. It is good to be back…to continue and restart the journey of my life.
So many things to do…so many plans…may God guide me and teach me…protect my family (Lydia and Megumi)…give me wisdom in doing things. In Jesus name I prayed, amen.

Inspired by Google…I have started Seasoning Logo of ShaShinKi since many years ago (yeah…ShaShinKi is nearly 3 years old now).
Coming this 51st Independence Day of Malaysia (Hari Merdeka), I have created a dedicated Merdeka logo of ShaShinKi. Not to say astonishing design, but just to remember the day of my country getting independence.

I am not a very creative person myself…no choice…can’t afford a dedicated art designer at the moment…so will have to try with whatever lightbulbs in my brain…
Happy Merdeka Day to All!

Petrol has reached historical high price worldwide. This is not just a Malaysia problem but worldwide problem. In Japan, Petrol price has reached JPY167 (RM5.34) per litre for regular fuel. Fuel price in Singapore has also reached new high price. So, in reality our petrol price in Malaysia is still considered as cheap…though not exactly very cheap to many especially with such a great increase overnight (though already speculated for many months).
Tomorrow newspapers sure will have this Petrol increases in their front page news…soon we will see public transportation increasing their fare…courier company increasing their postage rate…food price increases (already)…
Many will say…salary no increase…yeah…

Now that Selangor has fall into the Oppositions hands…will the tolls in Selangor continue to increase or will it get reduced or demolished?
There are so many tolls in Selangor…
Or will we get another excuse? What do you think?

With news of more and more states change government…with new systems, new chief minister, new staffs…are you worried?!
This is the first time Oppositions won so big in Malaysia history!
DAP representing Chinese mainly…
PKR is a mix of all…
PAS representing Malays mainly…
Honestly my heart is pumping very fast now…I am not sure if this is a good or bad future of Malaysia…what say you?!

As according to Malaysiakini…
Unofficial: Opposition wins Selangor – 12.25am
Selangor has fallen into the hands of the opposition. PKR has earlier announced that its secretary-general Khalid Ibrahim will be named chief minister. In Selangor, DAP has taken 35 seats (DAP – 15, PKR – 11 and PAS – 9) out of the 56 seats in the state.
Meanwhile, the opposition is also doing very well in Perak but it is still not clear how many of the 59 state seats it has won.
What will happen to Genting Highlands?!

Just a few more day…Malaysia will held its 12th general election on th 8th March 2008.
Too bad I am in Japan now…can’t vote. I did call to the embassy in Japan, the person in charge said that I need to register as oversea voter with them few months earlier before I can vote. Not sure how true it is…
To remind all my visitors and ShaShinKi.com customers, I have created a special banner/logo at ShaShinKi.com:

Vote for your country…vote wisely.
