Kinda like a gathering with my friends today…BBQ at my house.
Alvin, Janice, Fu Yong, Ammy, Lydia, Megumi and myself (Kho King).
New BBQ tray borrowed from Alvin. Simple and nice to use.
Some food as prepared by my wife. Jagung (corn) is very sweet, one of the best food among all. The front meal with white snow is sagu with coconut actually, very nice desert.
Sushi rice in tauhu skin. I love it!
Wife busy in the kitchen and I took her shot by surprised…
Bought low smoke coal (as according to the seller) at RM8.00 per pack of not sure how many kg. Definitely enough for the night lah…
Fire is ready…where is the food?!
Ok…on the way to the fire…
Man’s job for the fire / BBQ part (Fu Yong is at the back)..while lady setting up the table. Megumi was getting ready too…can you see the big cup on their baby chair already?!
Not a overly full dinner (for me lah…I drank a lot of O-cha (red tea)). I think we have a nice night…good to have gathering with friends from time to time. ![]()

My sister from UK bought this skirt for Megumi, very nice colour but size is quite big. Still can wear as Megumi is quite tall, and can wear again in future. Better than too small / can’t fit.
Thanks, Sis!

Bought some roses last weekend, only planted one…still have another 4 waiting. My wife loves roses.
Alvin visited me two days ago, so we have some time in the yard shooting some flowers, testing his new toy…Sigma OS HSM 18-250mm lens. Quite a nice lens! Very close focusing distance and fast focusing speed (with HSM for Nikon mount!).
Ok…here are my roses…
No matter how pretty those roses are, they still can’t compete to my precious…

Yesterday…or few hours ago we celebrate our mother in law’s birthday. This is the 2nd birthday celebrations in my new house…the first one is my mother, and the second one is my mother in law’s birthday.
I went to bought a cake after work…a happy surprise to them I hope. Though I knew they do not like to eat cake, but I think it still means a lot when blowing candle and cutting cake during birthday, as an official celebration. The night before we have actually already went out for celebration dinner, but no cake or a pandan chifon cake made by my wife, but no candle and not so official…hahaa…lots of excuses…
Anyhow…here’s some photos to share.
Megumi can’t wait…in fact she has been very curious and excited when I brought the cake home. Yeah, she is holding the chifon cake made by my wife.
Blowing candle moment…
Cutting cake moment…
Happy birthday mother in law! May God be with you, protect you, give you health and guide you always. In Jesus precious name I prayed. Amen.

This is how the connection between the two.
Sekonic L-308 Lightmeter is able to measure flash light exposure, and give you the correct setting. A great lightmeter. The LCD has blue backlight, very beautiful!
Connection is made using PC Sync male to male cable.
When the Sekonic is pressed, the LCD backlight of the flash is lighted up as well. Take note that flash setting should be in Auto mode.
Press the button on the right of the Sekonic and it will fire the flash and measure the exposure. It will then tell you the aperture needed for the flash.
Press the button once and both LCD will light up.
Press again and you can see the flash is being fired.
Both Sekonic and SB-800 flash are working fine connected using Nikon PC Sync Male to Male cable.

Customer request to test the camera before sending it out. Tested using…not sure what lens now…forgot already…
First thing to test is of course the focus accuracy (Front / back focus), using ShaShinKi Focus Test Chart, which can be obtained for FREE from any purchase made at ShaShinKi.
See the shallow dept of field…amazing camera and amazing lens!
Another test shot…
Camera body is extremely clean. However, I find some buttons on the camera body to be a bit stiff and hard to press.
No, I still dream of a D3…with X now… ![]()

Don’t know how on earth the brochure got leaked into the market before the official announcement date on 09.09.2009. That was supposed to be the biggest news release date for Leica this year…but somehow the excitement got spoiled…or will there be more surprise?
For those who are interested, I have uploaded the file below for sharing. The file size is around 7MB, copyright belongs to Leica I think…so at anytime I might have to remove it once Leica wrote to me…
This is the cover page of the brochure…showing M9 there…

Finally, bought my dinning table last Saturday. Have wanted a 8 seaters table, long rectangular type. Wanted a Lorenzo one, RM3200, too bad no stock available and they said their container got burnt at sea, so delayed stock till end of Oct or Nov. Can’t wait that long, so finally last Saturday my wife and I went to shop for our dinning table (we have moved into our new home for over a month…).
Went to two nearby furniture stores, saw a marble one, ok look but don’t really have the feel of wanted to buy. Somehow feel the workmanship a bit rough. Not cheap either at RM3.6k.
Then my wife suggest to go to Rustica, nearby as well. Quite similar to Lorenzo, quality workmanship. Saw one simple round table and one 8 seaters rectangular table. I find the rectangular type a bit old design, not modern type and not matching my house. I kinda like the round one, but it is only 6 seaters. Talked to the sales girl, and yes can add extra table at RM290 each, so become 8 seaters. Somehow it makes the table small then (5 feet diameter table). At last, we decided not to take the extra two chairs, and make it more spacious for our dinning room, as need a space for Megumi’s personal baby chair to slot in.
So, this is our dinning table. RM4.5k original, after discount (Raya promotion?) becomes RM3k.
Megumi’s chair is on the left, and there is extra two chairs on the left if needed. Though small but in actual use it brings closer the space and relationship of those who dine together.
(Simple solid wood with glass on the table. Simple chair with light brown leather or PU or PVC, not sure.)

Thank you to all our supporters and customers that have visited us during KLPF 2009!
Photos taken before the show starts. Was extremely busy and occupied from day till night…sorry if we have not served you well during the show, and thank you for the continuous support and visit to our booth!
It is quite a successful show, with many crowds despite the H1N1 flu. Of course, some were wearing masks…
We wished to bring as many products as possible to the show, but with 4 cars traveling from Johor and Perak to KL, we can only bring maybe 10% of our total inventory and product list.

06 August 2009, we celebrate the night before.
Bought a cake, got many candles but the small cake can’t occupy all…so we put only 1 big one down.
May God saves my mum and be with all of us all the time. In Jesus name I prayed, amen.

I asked my sister to help me buy 3 clocks for my house…trusting her taste, and yes I am very pleased with the choices.
Living Room (on the wall next to the door bell)
Kitchen (very similar to the wall tiles of my kitchen, match the color and design.)
Master bedroom (no wall to hang, so put it on a triangle stand temporary).
All Seiko brand, and I have confidence in Seiko brand.

The printing quality is perfect. Simple frame as I do not want the frame to overshadow the photo itself.
The photo was taken in Japan, during sakura viewing season.
On the right is my main door entrance. Top has 3 spotlights shinning to the photo. The wall in the direct end will have a shoe rack there later (already half built, will be completed this week…the designer and maker have delayed and delayed for me…).
Cost of printing and framing = RM170.00. Size 24R. Yes, it is HUGE!

I just received my Digi bill today, and the payment due date is tomorrow. So, I have to immediately do online payment to them.
Few minutes ago, my friend called me and complaint about his digi phone bill. Then only I realized that Digi actually charges May and June and July calls to ONE bill! This is crazy and unfair to those who have subscribe to the Max Usage plan.
Why?
Let me explain. If you subscribed to Digi Max Usage 50 plan, you are entitled to get RM50 rebate maximum for all the call charges you made in that particular month. Say for example if you called RM40 in June, you will need to pay RM50 for the Max Usage 50 plan. However, if you called RM70 in June, then you will have to pay RM70 that month.
Now the unfair part. Since Digi forwarded all the charges of my June calls to July, that makes my June calling bill less than RM25 only but I still have to pay RM50 for it. And, since the call charges is brought forward to July now, the total amount of calls for June and July is RM95 and I have to pay the total of RM95 for it. If June calls was charged in June, then I would have been able to save the RM25 in my Max Usage 50 plan.
This is cheating and unfair to customers! Beware! Go to Digi center and bring your May, June and July bills and complain!

Today I checked my credit card bill, and to my shocking, I saw two charges from CIMB bank on my credit card bill:
1. Late Charges = RM34.66
2. Finance Charges = RM36.59
I paid my bill on 10 July 2009, and I think the due date was 06 July 2009. Ok, I was few days late, so I understand that there will be some charges, but I didn’t expect it to be that much!
My total dued amount was only RM3465.68, and the total charges / penalty above is RM71.25, which is equivalent to 2.056% of the total amount that I dued! If you calculated annually, that is equivalent to 24.67% annual charge that CIMB charged you!
Licensed Ah Long, I don’t know how can this Ah Long still exist legally. Realising the crazy rate, I have immediately paid my this month CC bill now. It would be crazy to let CIMB get another cent from my pocket. Crazy…

Bought a dustbin last week at Jusco.
Quite modern look. Opened is like any other dustbin…to store garbage.
Price? RM45. There are red and blue colour available. I think red suits my house more.

Megumi is admitted to Ipoh Specialist today, due to continuous fever for 5 days.
I am very down today, worried about her and sad that I couldn’t do anything here. Can only pray to God that Megumi will be fine.
I am very tempted to drive to Ipoh to be with her and my wife…still struggling to go or not…
God, please protect Megumi, heal her, be with her. Please give patience and love and strength to Foong to take care of Megumi. In Jesus Christ name I pray, amen.
Update (25th July 2009):
Thank you very much to those who have shown concerns, Megumi is fine now and have released from the hospital. Thank God.

An interesting “True Story” and I saw in the net. Author unknown…
————————————-
George Phillips, an elderly man, from Meridian, Mississippi, was going up to bed, when his wife told him that he’d left the light on in the garden shed, which she could see from the bedroom window. George opened the back door to go turn off the light, but saw that there were people in the shed stealing things.
He phoned the police, who asked “Is someone in your house?”
He said “No,” but some people are breaking into my garden shed and stealing from me..
Then the police dispatcher said “All patrols are busy. You should lock your doors and an officer will be along when one is available.”
George said, “Okay.” He hung up the phone and counted to 30.
Then he phoned the police again.
“Hello, I just called you a few seconds ago because there were people stealing things from my shed. Well, you don’t have to worry about them now because I just shot them.” And he hung up.
Within five minutes, six Police Cars, a SWAT Team, a Helicopter, two Fire Trucks, a Paramedic, and an Ambulance showed up at the Phillips’ residence, and caught the burglars red-handed.
One of the Policemen said to George, “I thought you said that you’d shot them!”
George said, “I thought you said there was nobody available!”

I need two TVs for my house, one for living room and another for my bedroom. LCD or Plasma, and I have decided on LCD. Plasma seems darker and not as high resolutions as LCD TV.
I bought one few months ago, Sony KLV-40V400A model, at a bargain price of below RM2.9k (after discount and minus out Jusco voucher) during Jusco Day at Bukit Indah, Johor. Every RM100 purchase will get a RM10 voucher from Jusco during Jusco Day. That model is getting discontinued, hence the bargain price.
The design is quite nice and sleek.
Today, I bought another one, Sony KLV-40S550A, entry model to Sony LCD TV, at RM3030 (after all discount and minus out vouchers). Free one Sony MP3 walkman (2GB only). Newer model but not as high range as the V series. In Sony, S is the entry model, followed by V then W then…etc. (out of my reach). Even the W series is already too expensive for me (over RM6k for 40″).
This is how the S series looks like:
Yeah…quite ordinary look with no shinny side and front panel or translucent panel. Speakers is hidden type.
The salesman is trying to push the V series to me, but I just don’t feel like paying extra RM630 (and no free MP3 player) for the V series with only few insignificant extra features and deco. My wife will definitely go for the cheaper model, and I have told myself initially that I don’t need to spend $$$ for my bedroom TV. After a nearly 45 minutes thought and checking here and there, I decided on the S series. Haha…the salesman sure looks disappointed, but I am quite happy and relief with my decision (my credit card is relief too).

This is what I get for my Celcom wireless broadband RM98 package per month. It is even worse than the dial-up that I used to have!
