Saw some pictures of the Nikon AF-S 10-18mm F/4 G ED in the internet, looks pretty real to me.
(Someone beta testing the lens?)
From the naming, it looks like this lens is going to be a full frame lens (FX format). 10mm at FX format is going to be awesome ultra wide!No fisheye wording on the lens, so I would assume it to be a “normal” ultra wide angle!
Price? Judging from the current Nikon new increased price, the lens should be in RM6k range. Nano coating some more…good…
This won’t be the last lens from Nikon this year…

My sister asked me how come my photos so nice colour, what setting I use for my camera and if I use flash or not. It is hard to explain in words, so I have decided to write a small and simple tutorial here.
After discovering Lambency, my flash photography results have changed entirely. Flash no longer harsh and everything seems to be very natural even for indoor shots. I no longer scared of using flash, and no longer having the problem of “fake” flash type of photos. I have blogged about Lambency before, which you can read in the link below:
As to where you can get the Lambency diffuser, visit:
If your original photos are already of very harsh flash result, then editing will be very difficult. Not everything can be corrected in post processing, so try to get things RIGHT on the first place.

Finally…after so many rumors…after so many months of waiting…people said before Olympic Beijing…nevermind…now it is true…from Nikon the news…let’s welcome the D3X!
There is no price for Malaysia market yet…but in Japan, price has already been announced and it is a hefty JPY900k street price! With perhaps a 10% discount or point rebate, you still have to pay JPY810k for it, which I believe is the MOST expensive DSLR among Nikon, Canon and Sony. Ok…for Malaysia buyers, no price yet from Nikon Malaysia or Nikon Singapore, but based on D3 price, I am guessing that the D3X would be priced at around RM25k-27k. Which is around the price range of Canon 1Ds Mark III.
I believe the sensor used in Nikon D3X is same as the one used in Sony D700, which is priced at only RM12k+, yeah…so much cheaper than the other full frame DSLR. Sony D700 suddenly sounds so cheap and affordable…and attractive!
Not much changes or new features in D3X that I can notice…no…I don’t remember any…should be using the exact same feature and body as D3, except with a bigger sensor…
Am I going to buy one? No…for sure…no…I have a bigger and more interesting commitment in front…a house…yeah…a home. ![]()

I did a simple Christmas 2008 banner design for ShaShinKi today.
Initially it is just a plain .png file. Later I changed it to jpeg for better web compatibility, later I decided to add some snow animation to it…
Here’s the final version:
File size is 160kb, I hope it is not of too much burden for Malaysia internet speed to load…
Merry Christmas! Christ is born!

My favorite photo from the trip…the image keeps popping up in my mind…a very accident shots from a boat in our last day trip and last hour on the way back from a fishing village. The sun is setting…a boy and his sister waving us goodbye when saw our boat pass by near a hill. They might have coming back from taking water from the nearby river…innocent and lovely children in a fishing village in Siem Reap…
Goodbye and take care…

We went to the booth the night before the exhibition day, around 8pm we were at there…
We decided to went rest at hotel and come again the next day morning to setup the booth.
We arrived the next day (Saturday) at 6.30pm, exhibition started at 10am, so we were quite in a rush. Thank God, everything went smoothly and we were able to setup everything within the time frame.
Final shots before the crowds start coming in…

Too tired right now, got some photos in my CF card, will post it when in a few days time.

A dedicated focus test chart - ShaShinKi Focus Test Chart - uses to check the focus accuracy of your lens and camera.
I will be distributing the focus test chart to visitors that come to ShaShinKi booth at KLPF 2008 (Booth B05). Those who order items online at ShaShinKi.com will get the test chart FREE OF CHARGE as well, while stock last only.
For a good / correct focus lens and camera, this is what you will get:
The ShaShinKi Line will be in focus and sharp.
To use the focus chart, it is simple. Just place the ShaShinKi Focus Test Chart on a flat table, get your camera and lens and point to the ShaShinKi Line at the middle of the chart at around 45 degrees, make the sure ShaShinKi Line is in the middle of your viewfinder, take a shot.
Notes / Common Mistakes:
Happy Focus Testing! ![]()

Yeah! One and only in the world! Dedicated to ShaShinKi!
I have wanted a cap for a long time, and finally…I have my own cap…ShaShinKi Cap!
My first cap was gifted by my sister, a Nike cap. Sometimes, when it is too hot and shinny outside, my eyes hurt and it really helps if you were to wear a cap, to shade the sunlight from directly hitting your eyes.
Ok…back to the main purpose of this post…I want to show to the world ShaShinKi dedicated t-shirt and baseball cap!
Front
Back
The design is simple, shall think of how to improve in future.
(In case you wonder…the model is yours truly… :P)

What a Beautiful Lens!
This lens makes me want to get a Sony DSLR and mount the lens on it!
Zeiss is tempting…so much nice design as compare to the “Ugly” lens…

What an ugly lens in silver colour…
No, this is not an amatuer lens, but professional lens with price tag over RM7k! Sony should have just make it black, or white, or grey, but come on…NOT SILVER!
Luckily I am no Sony user… ![]()

I have the chance to play with Nikon SB-900 speedlight yesterday. Did some simple test and play with it…compared with my SB-800, here’s some of my thought…
The SB-900 is HUGE! Significantly BIGGER and LARGER and LONGER than Nikon SB-800. This is definitely not an advantage of the new flash…besides not so easy to get lost…
Here are some photo comparison of the two flashes side by side:
Left = SB-800 ; Right = SB-900
As you can see in the photos above, the LCD of SB-900 is significantly larger as well, with more information being shown. The flash head is so much bigger and longer than SB-800, I guess that is mainly due to the 200mm flash zoom gear in the head. (more…)

I just found out today that Canon has discontinued / stopped production of Canon WP-DC21 underwater casing for Canon G9, which means that Canon G9 should has stopped production or discontinued?
G9 was announced on 20th August 2007, about a year old model…which is actually still quite new I would say. However, for digital camera…their life is usually quite short. In comparison, Canon G7 was announced on 14th September 2006, 11 months later G9 was announced. So it is about time for a new replacement model for G9 now.
What can we expect for the G9 replacement model? Here’s my speculations:
Should be seeing the news in the coming Photokina 2008 (September). ![]()

Panasonic has today announced a new digicam replacing their very unique LX series…the new Panasonic LX3 spotting 24-60mm f2-2.8 wide angle lens!
What so unique about the Panasonic LX series? The impressive and only in the world panoramic view 16:6 CCD and LCD, which captures like no others! 10MP resolution, ISO 80-3200, 2.5fps, etc., this should be everything one would needed in today’s digicam. (more…)

Produced in year 1999, limited production. Some said 500 units in Japan, some said 400 units worldwide, some said 1000 units worldwide…not sure…but what I am sure of is that it is definitely a hard to find limited production and most sort after Minolta film SLR.
Some photos I found from a Japanese store:
The limited edition comes in a nice presentation box (red silk cloth inside) with a brown colour genuine leather strap.
I am not a Minolta fans, but still I am quite tempted to get this one myself. My local shop has a display set unit for sale, price quite reasonable…new one was selling at around USD3000 in year 1999, sadly…camera doesn’t appreciate over time (except Leica), and Minolta 9Ti is currently at around US$2k in the market for an used one. Mint or like new might still be able to fetch high price, but is very rare and hard to find nowadays.
Should I get one? Maybe I should… ![]()

Lowepro, being one of the most popular camera bag in the market, has become the target of pirates.
Yes, there are many imitate Lowepro bags in the market. How to differentiate if your Lowepro bags are original or not? Take note that only original Lowepro bags carry product lifetime warranty, while the imitate bags still selling at similar or slightly cheaper than orignal Lowepro bags, carry no warranty and no quality control.
Original Lowepro bags have white tag inside the bag with a red circle QC stamp. See picture below:
Now you can go check your Lowepro bags, do they have the white tag above? ![]()

I just noticed a stunning portable storage and multimedia viewer last night…the Vosonic VP8860!
Ok…I know I am a bit out dated…this product has been in the market for a month…and only last night did I noticed it.

Two photos…
Don’t see much changes from SB-800 from the front view…don’t have the rear view at the moment…but I am sure very soon we will see it…price? 429 euros (RM2,208.50). Street price should be lower, but I think it should still be significantly higher than SB-800.
SB-900 is more mean for full frame FX DSLR.
Interesting normal micro lens. Should be good for product shots. FX compatible.

There isn’t any reason for us NOT to believe that Nikon D700 is real now…
Yeah…FX format…same sensor resolution as Nikon D3, 12.1MP (are they sharing the same sensor? Probably, as the ISO range is same from 200-6400 as well).
I think it shares the same hard coated glass LCD screen as Nikon D3. There is no catch for external cover for it like in D300…
Weather sealed…reminds me of Nikon F6…looks like a professional camera with external battery pack.
Not any smaller with MB-D10 as compared to D3 (right). Ok, taller but less wide.
Now…what will be the price? Some said USD4000 MSRP (convert from Euro pound), but I think that is way too high. I would rather go for D3 if D700 is only marginally cheaper.
Nevermind, wait first…not that I can get one now even if I have the USD4000… ![]()
