You can download the form online, for FREE!
http://www.imi.gov.my/images/Forms/Form_IM.42.pdf
Remember to print on both side of a white A4 paper. The form can also be purchased at Malaysia Immigration counter, at RM1.00. I did print out myself last time, but on two pieces of paper hence can’t be used. Take note of that.
More info and steps can be read at:

Have you ever heard someone saying…
“Hey…I support you…I buy this from you…you give me best best price lah!”
Your friend is selling computer, doing it as a business to support his family and life. You plan to buy a computer, so you thought of him and want to “support” him.
You went to his shop, said “hey friend, I want to buy a computer for my kid, you give me best price then I support you and buy from you lah!”
THINK AGAIN!
Are you really supporting your so called FRIEND? Or are you trying to TAKE ADVANTAGE from your friend?
Your friend is making living from selling computer, and yet you are trying to squezze him and ask him to give you the lowest possible price and to SUPPORT YOU! So this is the friendship you are talking about…
A true friend won’t mind paying more to support the business of another friend, that is what I think is the true support. So next time if you want to buy something at the lowest price from your friend, don’t use the word “Support him” again instead of “Support ME!”.

My old spectacle is having problem…the leg is almost broken. I made that one in Japan, age only around 1.5 years and costs me quite a lot.
No choice, have to do a new one…as I am a “no spec can’t see” person…very high degree in far sight.
Went to a nearby spectacle shop last week to do my spectacle. Don’t want to spend much initially, but then can’t find one that I am happy with.
Test tested the Nikon frame, quite nice and is quite light (not heavy). It is a spring type, so is comfortable to wear and should be more lasting. The frame is made out of titanium (yeah…as if I am going to put it through test…). Anyhow, RM420 for the frame and I swipe my card…
The nose resting design is quite special. Simple and quite comfortable. Take a closer look at you will see Nikon wordings on it too.
The side frame has Nikon wording too and the spring design is not thick.
Together with 1.67 slim multicoated lens, it costs me RM610. Ok…way above what I have planned initially but since it is going to be my daily Nikon…no choice lah…better than any other Nikon items that I have bought but only use occasionally. ![]()

Today I checked my credit card bill, and to my shocking, I saw two charges from CIMB bank on my credit card bill:
1. Late Charges = RM34.66
2. Finance Charges = RM36.59
I paid my bill on 10 July 2009, and I think the due date was 06 July 2009. Ok, I was few days late, so I understand that there will be some charges, but I didn’t expect it to be that much!
My total dued amount was only RM3465.68, and the total charges / penalty above is RM71.25, which is equivalent to 2.056% of the total amount that I dued! If you calculated annually, that is equivalent to 24.67% annual charge that CIMB charged you!
Licensed Ah Long, I don’t know how can this Ah Long still exist legally. Realising the crazy rate, I have immediately paid my this month CC bill now. It would be crazy to let CIMB get another cent from my pocket. Crazy…

An interesting “True Story” and I saw in the net. Author unknown…
————————————-
George Phillips, an elderly man, from Meridian, Mississippi, was going up to bed, when his wife told him that he’d left the light on in the garden shed, which she could see from the bedroom window. George opened the back door to go turn off the light, but saw that there were people in the shed stealing things.
He phoned the police, who asked “Is someone in your house?”
He said “No,” but some people are breaking into my garden shed and stealing from me..
Then the police dispatcher said “All patrols are busy. You should lock your doors and an officer will be along when one is available.”
George said, “Okay.” He hung up the phone and counted to 30.
Then he phoned the police again.
“Hello, I just called you a few seconds ago because there were people stealing things from my shed. Well, you don’t have to worry about them now because I just shot them.” And he hung up.
Within five minutes, six Police Cars, a SWAT Team, a Helicopter, two Fire Trucks, a Paramedic, and an Ambulance showed up at the Phillips’ residence, and caught the burglars red-handed.
One of the Policemen said to George, “I thought you said that you’d shot them!”
George said, “I thought you said there was nobody available!”

I bought a water filter system for my house - Puregen UF-2000.
This is how the produt looks like:
I think it is made in Malaysia, the PureGen logo is just a translucent sticker pasted onto the stainless steel, not direct printing like in the picture above.
I checked Puregen.com website, no information about Malaysia distributor, and I can’t find the above model as well. I have sent them an email inquiry, will see if this is truly a California USA product or not.
How much I paid? RM1200 before installation.
(There is a longer model, UF-2500.)

Only recently did I know that many foreign workers use money changer to send money back to their home country.
Few weeks ago, the Indonesian workers working on my house got cheated by the money changer located inside Jaya Jusco, Taman Universiti, Skudai, Johor. The money changer is just next to the ATM machines.
Below is the story that was being told by them and their boss to me.
The four Indonesian workers use to send money (total RM4200.00) back to their home country using money changer in Kuala Lumpur, so far so good. As they have been working here in Johor for a month+, they plan to send money back to their family in Indonesia. Their boss brought them to the money changer in Jusco, thought that it should be safe like in KL. A day after they sent the money, their family in Indonesia still haven’t received. So they went to question the money changer. The money changer said that they admit that they have to wait till month end to gain interest (which I think illogic as normally interest is counted as minimum amount in a month, you can’t get interest from just a few days saving.). The money changer told the Indonesians tha he will pay them back the money on 1st June 2009. The money changer even gave them a handphone number of “said his boss” to talk to. Also trying to convince them that they all are of the same religion, so will not cheat.
On 1st June, the Indonesian workers went to Jusco to seek the money. Shockingly, the money changer counter is CLOSED at 12.30pm when they reached there. They tried to call also nobody picking up the phone. When they called the money changer so called boss, he did pick up the phone and said that he already instructed and gave the money to the money changer there. Then hang up.
When inquired the staffs at Jusco, they said the counter has been closed since yesterday, and the money changer guy came yesterday briefly and then closed shop. The money changer did not inform Jusco management that they are closing down. There have been a few inquiries from some Vietnamese, possibily got cheated too (I guessed).
A police report has been made, but not sure how this thing can be solved or the money can even be gotten back. Today is already 07 June 2009 and the money changer counter is still closed (I went to check yesterday).
It is a pity that they Indonesian workers have work so hard for the money, but got cheated by those poor soul money changer.
The Indonesian workers have to send money to their hometown family, so they used a safe method this time, Western Union and CIMB Bank. Not much money this time, as most have already been cheated (the RM4200.00).
Hope the police can get the cheater, since it is a registered company and I believe Jusco management should have all the details/info.

Went to Jaya Jusco to buy a toothbrush, as usual, Oral B.
Bought one, RM4.90, Vision model.
When checking out just now at home, very shock to see that the toothbrush production date is year 2005!!!
Zoom in!
Though the expiry date is 10 years from the production date, but how come a toothbrush that is over 4 years 5 months old be still on the rack? If the one I bought now is 4 years 5 months OLD, is this model still in production or they are simply clearing the old design model / stock at RM4.90?!
Hmm…must check out the production date next time when buying toothbrush too. I think it is bad to sell such an old product on the rack.
(By the way, it is MADE IN CHINA.)

A great article which I think is worth reading, gives you a different perspective of the Pirates of the Somalia…
The story of the 2009 war on piracy was best summarised by another pirate, who lived and died in the fourth century BC. He was captured and brought to Alexander the Great, who demanded to know “what he meant by keeping possession of the sea.” The pirate smiled, and responded: “What you mean by seizing the whole earth; but because I do it with a petty ship, I am called a robber, while you, who do it with a great fleet, are called emperor.” Once again, our great imperial fleets sail in today - but who is the robber?

Read this in the internet, not sure of the original author. A good laugh…
In a trial, a Southern small-town prosecuting attorney called his first witness, a grandmotherly, elderly woman to the stand.
He approached her and asked, ‘Mrs. Jones, do you know me?’.
She responded, ‘Why, yes, I do know you, Mr. Williams.
I’ve known you since you were a boy, and frankly, you’ve been a big disappointment to me.
You lie, you cheat on your wife, and you manipulate people and talk about them behind their backs.
You think you’re a big shot when you haven’t the brains to realize you’ll never amount to anything more than a two-bit paper pusher. Yes, I know you.’
The lawyer was stunned.
Not knowing what else to do, he pointed across the room and asked, ‘Mrs. Jones, do you know the defense attorney?’
She again replied, ‘Why yes, I do.
I’ve known Mr. Bradley since he was a youngster, too.
He’s lazy, bigoted, and he has a drinking problem.
He can’t build a normal relationship with anyone, and his law practice is one of the worst in the entire state.
Not to mention he cheated on his wife with three different women. One of them was your wife. Yes, I know him.’
The defense attorney nearly died.
The judge asked both counselors to approach the bench and, in a very quiet voice, said,
‘If either of you idiots asks her if she knows me, I’ll send you both to the electric chair.’

It has been a long time that I did not exercise, bad for health. Before going to Japan, I played badminton almost every week with my friends. I hope to reinstate that game…called my friends and this Sunday afternoon we are going to play badminton again. ![]()
I lost my badminton racket. I have two actually. One is the Yonex Carbonex 20, which was bought by my father more than 10 years ago. During that time, that was one of the best racket (or most expensive) from Yonex, second to the Carbonex 21. I was very proud to have that racket…though I don’t play that well… ![]()
I bought my own 2nd badminton racket few years ago, as my Carbonex 20 finally gave up and have cracked. Maybe due to too many clashes with other’s racket during the play. I bought a Yonex MusclePower (can’t remember the model number now), at RM160+. That is a very nice racket with very strong hitting momentum. Racket head is heavier than the body. I left it at home and after coming back from Japan…couldn’t find it anymore. My Carbonex 20 still lying there…guess whoever took the MusclePower must be happy with it.
Went out to buy my 3rd racket. I tried a few: MusclePower 21, 22 and 45. Price is RM159, RM169 and RM359. Yeah, MusclePower 45 model is so much more expensive than the other two. I have a hard time chooseing. In hand, MusclePower 45 definitely feels better with the slightly heavier head, while MusclePower 21 and 22 are having balance weight around the body. I can feel stronger momentum in smashing when using MusclePower 45.
I like to buy good quality things, as I believe that good things last longer and give better return as compared to those compromised items. I went to a few sports shop to check the price of MusclePower 45, not many have it and I finally found one with better deal (Free string, hand grip and at the price of RM330). I took the deal last night and today I have the new racket in hands. Tomorrow only I will be able to test it out…hopefully my body can still move/dance… ![]()
The string that I chose to go with my MusclePower 45 is Yonex BG66. This is among the most popular string use by many. BG65 is slightly thicker, can last longer but the repulsion power is not as good as the BG66. Since I seldome experience broken string, so I chose the BG66 this time with 25 pounds of tieing strength / power.
Some do not like Yonex nowadays, and there are many other brands, eg. ProAce, Carton, etc. For me, if I have to pay RM200+- for a racket, I might as well buy one that I am already confident with, Yonex is the biggest brand, couldn’t go wrong with it instead of trying out new brand.

Read a news today and some shops might sell under quality gold to consumers and cheat.
916 gold should have at least 91.6% of gold content inside, but some shops tend to mix it with other material and have less than 91.6% gold content.
One of the example as in the news below is Baalaji Jewellers in Little India in Singapore.
http://www.sinchew-i.com/node/63790?tid=6
Singapore did a good job by doing random checking and publish the name of the shop to the public. In Malaysia, we never know…and never will know… ![]()

I bought a fridge few weeks ago during Jusco Member Day. Was looking for a big fridge for my new house (house not ready soon), initially want a Panasonic model with invertor technology for power saving, but the size available is too small (400L gross capacity). Was about to give up…then suddenly one of the salesman introduce me to this Sharp model, which has the power saving feature as well (30% power saving as according to the ads).
The model is Sharp SHP-SJPT71RHS, which I think is the largest model in the series (2 doors type), and the capacity is 660L gross capacity. Definitely MUCH bigger than the Panasonic model that I was looking at.
Paid around RM2690 I think…with some free coupons from Jusco for member day promotion (thousands of people there…you can’t believe the economy is on the down turn…).
Ok…settled with the fridge…still headache for TV. LCD or Plasma? Samsung? Sharp? Sony? Panasonic? …

I did a simple Christmas 2008 banner design for ShaShinKi today.
Initially it is just a plain .png file. Later I changed it to jpeg for better web compatibility, later I decided to add some snow animation to it…
Here’s the final version:
File size is 160kb, I hope it is not of too much burden for Malaysia internet speed to load…
Merry Christmas! Christ is born!

What so special about LV that one is willing to spent $$$ on getting just a simple bag? Is it the brand? the quality? the price?
Hmm…Lv…LV…Louis Vuitton!
Louis Vuitton Neverfull GM - N51106
Price tag? JPY86310 (RM2850.00), out of stock.
Many reseller in Japan is selling at ABOVE LV SRP, and still…sold out in most places.
Ok, this GM model is of bigger size than the PM model that I bought for my customer in the post that I recently blog about, both seems very high demand and sold out at LV stores and many online resellers.
Will get one…soon… ![]()

Inspired by Google…I have started Seasoning Logo of ShaShinKi since many years ago (yeah…ShaShinKi is nearly 3 years old now).
Coming this 51st Independence Day of Malaysia (Hari Merdeka), I have created a dedicated Merdeka logo of ShaShinKi. Not to say astonishing design, but just to remember the day of my country getting independence.
I am not a very creative person myself…no choice…can’t afford a dedicated art designer at the moment…so will have to try with whatever lightbulbs in my brain…

Yeah…after the canceled event that makes Malaysia shine on the world’s stage…now the authority has allowed the show to continue and will be held on the predetermined date of 29th August 2008 on Merdeka Stadium.
If this story (canceled and resumed) is just part of the advertising campaign tactics, then the planner is sure one genius as every major news agencies in the world has talked about this show “for free”…and I guess the ticket will be sold to near 100% by the time of the concert…hahaa…yeah… ![]()

Helped a customer to get a LV bag in Japan recently. Bought from a reliable shop at quite a premier price (though might still be cheap to some).
I did not buy from a LV store, as this bag is of so very high demand that most LV stores in Japan have run out of stock. Instead, I ordered from a big bag seller in Japan.
When receiving the bag, to my surprise there is NO BOX or any label showing if the bag is genuine or fake. I have a hard time telling, as I have not bought a LV bag before (my wife and I are no an of LV). However, I must admit that the bag looks very nice, very neat stitches and very simple and clean design.
Here are some photos to share (as there will be many pirates selling this bag in the internet, so I better watermarked my photos below):

As of today, China has won 43 Gold Medals in 2008 Beijing Olympic Games. Creating a history high score. Followed by USA which has 26 Golds so far. It is very likely that China is going to be the Grand Champion this time…crowning as the world best athletes/sports country.
Here’s the link to the medal standing:

There are still 4 more days to go before closing…

Chinese name can be confusing to many…especially those from the west.
My full name is Koh Kho King, many got confused which is my family name. Is it Koh or King? Those from the West often called me Mr. King, and I got my first paper published with my name wrongly written as K. K. King.
I just got my second technical paper proof read (already accepted last year). Again there is a mistake in the name…so this time I did some search online and found the more appropriate way of writing Chinese name. Hence I amended this to my 2nd paper, as definitely need to get my family name and first name correct.
Here’s how a Chinese should identify their names:
Kho-King KOH
Yes, put a hyphen in between the two sounds of your first name, and write your family name in CAPITAL LETTER. You can now be sure that people will know your family name correctly.
Happy writing! ![]()

Ok…I am sure many has blogged about this by now…
the BAD news…
From 5th June 2008
From July 2008
the GOOD news…
Rebate will be made in money order when owner renewing their roadtax after 1st July.
Petrol has reached historical high price worldwide. This is not just a Malaysia problem but worldwide problem. In Japan, Petrol price has reached JPY167 (RM5.34) per litre for regular fuel. Fuel price in Singapore has also reached new high price. So, in reality our petrol price in Malaysia is still considered as cheap…though not exactly very cheap to many especially with such a great increase overnight (though already speculated for many months).
Tomorrow newspapers sure will have this Petrol increases in their front page news…soon we will see public transportation increasing their fare…courier company increasing their postage rate…food price increases (already)…
Many will say…salary no increase…yeah… ![]()
