This is what I bought for my gate and fence. Gate is bigger than fence.
Quite modern look, actually quite headache choosing the preferred light. I think this one is acceptable.
Big one is RM88, small one is RM78. Add extra RM10 for the light bulb inside.

I bought a water filter system for my house - Puregen UF-2000.
This is how the produt looks like:
I think it is made in Malaysia, the PureGen logo is just a translucent sticker pasted onto the stainless steel, not direct printing like in the picture above.
I checked Puregen.com website, no information about Malaysia distributor, and I can’t find the above model as well. I have sent them an email inquiry, will see if this is truly a California USA product or not.
How much I paid? RM1200 before installation.
(There is a longer model, UF-2500.)

Only last night that I noticed that PayPal has changed their fee structure by imposing fee to all PERSONAL ACCOUNT now for receiving money. It used to be FREE for personal account to receive money, but no more now.
PayPal NEVER inform their members about the change of fee structure. I googled around and noticed complaints from many for such change without informing them. What a shame for PayPal to secretely put fee to Personal Account but never inform their customers.
When checking the Fee Policy page, Singapore is still listed as ZERO fee for personal account receiving money from ready PayPal fund. However, that is NOT TRUE (should I call it a LIE?!). You can see their fee policy at (login required):
https://www.paypal.com/row/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=p/gen/ua/policy_fees
Here’s the print screen of the Personal Account fee structure:
Again, what a shame for PayPal such a big company to change their fee policy without informing their customers, and also telling LIE as what stated on their Fee Policy page.

Only recently did I know that many foreign workers use money changer to send money back to their home country.
Few weeks ago, the Indonesian workers working on my house got cheated by the money changer located inside Jaya Jusco, Taman Universiti, Skudai, Johor. The money changer is just next to the ATM machines.
Below is the story that was being told by them and their boss to me.
The four Indonesian workers use to send money (total RM4200.00) back to their home country using money changer in Kuala Lumpur, so far so good. As they have been working here in Johor for a month+, they plan to send money back to their family in Indonesia. Their boss brought them to the money changer in Jusco, thought that it should be safe like in KL. A day after they sent the money, their family in Indonesia still haven’t received. So they went to question the money changer. The money changer said that they admit that they have to wait till month end to gain interest (which I think illogic as normally interest is counted as minimum amount in a month, you can’t get interest from just a few days saving.). The money changer told the Indonesians tha he will pay them back the money on 1st June 2009. The money changer even gave them a handphone number of “said his boss” to talk to. Also trying to convince them that they all are of the same religion, so will not cheat.
On 1st June, the Indonesian workers went to Jusco to seek the money. Shockingly, the money changer counter is CLOSED at 12.30pm when they reached there. They tried to call also nobody picking up the phone. When they called the money changer so called boss, he did pick up the phone and said that he already instructed and gave the money to the money changer there. Then hang up.
When inquired the staffs at Jusco, they said the counter has been closed since yesterday, and the money changer guy came yesterday briefly and then closed shop. The money changer did not inform Jusco management that they are closing down. There have been a few inquiries from some Vietnamese, possibily got cheated too (I guessed).
A police report has been made, but not sure how this thing can be solved or the money can even be gotten back. Today is already 07 June 2009 and the money changer counter is still closed (I went to check yesterday).
It is a pity that they Indonesian workers have work so hard for the money, but got cheated by those poor soul money changer.
The Indonesian workers have to send money to their hometown family, so they used a safe method this time, Western Union and CIMB Bank. Not much money this time, as most have already been cheated (the RM4200.00).
Hope the police can get the cheater, since it is a registered company and I believe Jusco management should have all the details/info.

My technician repaired my faulty Nikon SB-800 speedlight. The LCD panel of my SB-800 is not functioning, no word being shown.
The SB-800 has been serving me for nearly 4 years, and I bought it used for less than RM800 4 years ago. The backlight on the LCD panel was not working during the day I bought it, I did not realize it until a later date, but still it serves nicely. Now after the back panel completely gone, it was time for replacement of the LCD panel, and it is nice to have the backlight on the LCD panel, as I have in some cases needed to check the flash setting at night that I can’t.
Good to see the LCD panel backlight:
As usual, Lambency on my SB-800 99% of the time.
For those who need flash repair services, can contact ShaShinKi at:

Next Saturday, 14th June 2009, is the 2 years old birthday of my Megumi.
Sadly, I can’t celebrate with her, as she is with her mother in Perak and I have lots of work this coming week and next week.
Went out to buy a present for my baby…
What’s inside? Haha…I will let Megumi open it first before revealing.
Here’s a message for Megumi, she might not be able to read or understand now, but I hope she will read this blog when she grows up.
May God protect her, guide her, lead her, save her. In Jesus Christ’s name I prayed, amen.

Today I asked a designer of a nearby furniture maker to come to my house to do some quotations of built in furniture cost of my house.
Basically below are what I plan to do:
Built in furniture is really expensive. My budget is not more than RM40k for the above, hopefully can do. Will get a quotation first before deciding (might cut here and there…most probably the last item).

I think the existing one in my house is very rough and does not look nice.
Search the internet and found some nice one.
I think it is the chrome connector that makes the difference.

Went to Jaya Jusco to buy a toothbrush, as usual, Oral B.
Bought one, RM4.90, Vision model.
When checking out just now at home, very shock to see that the toothbrush production date is year 2005!!!
Zoom in!
Though the expiry date is 10 years from the production date, but how come a toothbrush that is over 4 years 5 months old be still on the rack? If the one I bought now is 4 years 5 months OLD, is this model still in production or they are simply clearing the old design model / stock at RM4.90?!
Hmm…must check out the production date next time when buying toothbrush too. I think it is bad to sell such an old product on the rack.
(By the way, it is MADE IN CHINA.)

Yes, current LCD TV can be used as a computer monitor, by connecting to your CPU or notebook directly via a VGA cable.
However, is it really workable and able to replace your REAL computer LCD monitor?
Not really. When I connect my Dell D800 to my Sony 40″ LCD, the highest resolution that it can support is only 1024 x 768px, which is pretty low and not the highest resolution my D800 can deliver (1280x 800). The screen size also does not go full to the Sony TV.
Refresh rate wise, not really sure but I can see lines flicker around the TV. I supposed it might be less than 60Hz.
So, my simple conclusion is…you can connect your LCD TV to your computer, but it can’t replace your computer LCD monitor or exisiting monitor on your notebook. It is good to watch movie, simple internet accesss, relax work, but definitely not for the serious work.
