“New 3G iPhone, Twice as Fast, Half the Price!” - This is the advert by Apple for their new iPhone 3G.

With 3G support now, we should see it coming to Asia very very soon!

Some rumors:

  • Softbank Japan will have iPhone soon.
  • iPhone will hit Singapore soon, not sure which mobile phone service provider will get it though. Singtel?

My opinion is that one need to have very fast internet connection in order to utilize the features of iPhone. Malaysia internet connection speed is still very slow, not sure how fun it is using iPhone in Malaysia as compared to other countries.

THAT PRICE IS WHEN U ARE TIED FOR 24MONTHS CONTRACT WITH US PROVIDER AND A 3G PHONE THAT CANT MAKE VIDEO CALLS. LAWL. PHAIL

According to the speech by Steve Job, worldwide price should be around USD199 or less for 8GB model. I am sure many line providers will want tie contract with subscribers or purchasers, but at least we can be sure that the price of iPhone won’t be over USD199.

Not sure about USA, but in Japan, Softbank is getting the deal and I can imagine very smooth and fast internet with the new iPhone 3G in Japan. Definitely going to be a big HIT!
