Well, there is a reason why we’ve always told people not to use anything but the nightlies on their live blog. That’s why when I alpha and beta test WordPress I always use my separate sandbox blog so that I can check for plugin compatibilities as well.
Nevertheless, I’ve wrote the simplest way you can upgrade your WordPress without any problems. Short of using SSH and the SVN repositories, there is no other simpler way to do it.

I tried with WP2.5RC1 and there is no problem with Vistered Little theme.
Comments can contain some xhtml. Names and emails are required (emails aren't displayed), url's are optional.
